IOTA is a creative agency that supports writing, curatorial research, and cross-disciplinary artworks in new media, the web, visual, interactive and performance art. We aim to reach beyond the scope and duration of traditional art exhibitions, to create an environment that fosters research opportunities, multi-sector partnerships including technology, biology, and grass roots movements.

IOTA is not a pedagogical institute and has no physical space. It employs the administrative framework of the agency and the conceptual model of the collective.

IOTA has three principle platforms for engagement:

IOTA: INSTITUTE, where arts professionals can participate in applied research and research- creation led activities such as residencies, writing (academic, curatorial, critical, research-based), commissioning and other artistic projects.

IOTA: STUDIOS, where IOTA acts as agents for a roster of artists, assisting artists with many aspects of their artistic activities such as proposal writing, artwork sales, and other professional activities.

IOTA: INTRA, where artistic projects are brought to the public realm via performance, interventions, and artwork pop ups - among other projects.

Now in its third year of operation (2018), IOTA has worked with 57 contemporary artists, 3 curators, 2 curatorial mentors, 4 writers, has built partnerships with two international presentation art organizations, commissioned 3 new web-artworks, and has conducted 48 art interviews for e-publication.

IOTA was inaugurated in 2015 as a Pop Up Gallery that grew into a flexible art collective model, prioritizing relationships between arts professionals, rather than the hierarchical method of project curation, facilitation and creation.
